IFBB WELCOMES MIKE O’MARA TO MADRID HEADQUARTERS AHEAD OF UPCOMING MR. UNIVERSE IN PERTH
The IFBB was pleased to receive Mr. Mike O’Mara, renowned Australian promoter of the prestigious Mr. Universe Perth, at our headquarters in Madrid. During his visit, Mr. O’Mara met with IFBB President Rafael Santonja to discuss the current and future development of this celebrated event, whose next edition will take place on 2nd November in Perth, Australia.
A former IFBB champion with an illustrious career in bodybuilding during the 1980s, Mike O’Mara continues to contribute significantly to the sport. With a strong family legacy in event promotion, he is known for organizing competitions that combine outstanding production value with exceptional hospitality for athletes — making each event a truly memorable experience.
Mr. O’Mara works closely with IFBB Vice President for Oceania, the legendary Paul Graham, and his dynamic wife Carole, promoting bodybuilding and fitness not only in Australia but also internationally.
Paul Graham, a pioneer of our sport in Oceania and a distinguished figure in the IFBB’s history, will be the subject of an exclusive feature article in the upcoming edition of Fitness Style magazine, highlighting his lifelong contributions to the federation.
The meeting in Madrid was also attended by IFBB Executive Director and President of the Romanian Federation, Professor Gabriel Toncean, who joined President Santonja in welcoming Mr. O’Mara and supporting this valuable exchange of ideas.
